cProject Suite
The ‘c’ in cProjects Suite stands for collaboration between internal and external partners involved in a project. The Suite consists of:
· cProjects
· cFolders
cProjects and cFolders can be used as stand-alone products but are part of the larger SAP Portal-based RPM (Resource & Portfolio Management) and as a whole of the SAP PLM (Product & Lifecycle Management) product range. cProjects was designed for organizations that need to manage multi-phase projects with high quality control and supports flexible project management and team collaboration. cProjects provides project structuring capabilities (project definition, phases, checklists and tasks), roles-based resource management, flexible authorization control and scheduling functionalities, adobe interactive forms for status reporting and approvals in conjunction with broad project management and monitoring features. It is especially suitable for development and consulting like projects.
cFolders is a web-based tool to collaborative share information (e.g. documents) with the outside world. Organizations, their partners and suppliers from any industry and of any size with requirements to work in distributed design and manufacturing teams in a collaborative web based environment can benefit from this solution.
Both products, or cProjects Suite as a whole, are tightly integrated with SAP ERP if integration is required. One can for instance register time on cProjects tasks in SAP timesheet application, Integrate into accounting via internal orders or WBS (PS) elements and link documents within the SAP Document Management System. You can also link standard transactions (e.g. sales quotation) and ERP reports into the cProjects interface and add your own logic (fields, tabs, checks, ...) into the web-interface making it very adaptable to your needs. By doing so the project partner involved only needs one interface to fit all business requirements.
Although standard SAP only allows replication of data from cProjects to ERP into PS WBS elements or internal orders (CO) where cProjects is considered as master, OASIS Consultants has co-developed with SAP a replication interface to replicate complex PS structures into cProjects. In the latter case PS becomes the master application to manage projects and cProjects can be considered as viewing portal for the outside world.
To be able to use the cProjects Suite you need to install it on a SAP Netweaver WAS (web-application server) which can be the same as ERP or a separate server (for performance or security reasons). There are no extra software licenses involved since the cProjects Suite is part of the standard ERP license. The full blown SAP RPM and the Oasis Consultants replication interface are priced separately.
